Penny and David were college students and this is the first time they have exhibited together, Penny having moved from Photography to Art based imagery and David experimenting photographically in monochrome and colour as well as taking up a major role in Academia.
Both abstract their source material from nature but in very different ways.
David in his College days heavily influenced by the strong graphic use of monochrome by such photographers as Bill Brandt, and continuing to find subjects suitable for this type of treatment, whilst Penny leaned more towards the styles of John Blockley, Kurt Jackson and Graham Sutherland with colour and light being strong elements to accentuate a more dramatic interpretation of the subject.
Many of works on display will be available for sale in the Granary Art Gallery, allowing visitors to take home a piece of unique art.
The Granary Art Gallery is open 11am – 4pm everyday (excluding Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day) and is free to enter.
