Covid-19 Update – Saturday 18th December 2021
It is with great regret that we have to tell you we have made the difficult decision to close the Granary Brasserie from Boxing Day to New Year’s Eve. With rising Covid cases we recognise the anxiety of our customers and this has been reflected in the number of cancellations we have received over the last week.
Whilst the last thing we want to do is disappoint you – especially at this time of year – we believe that this is the responsible thing to do.
The Park and Gardens will though still be open on Boxing Day to Sunday 2nd January where you can meet with friends and family to explore the “Capability” Brown oak studded Parkland. Come along for a walk, bring the children, bikes and dogs for a great day outside.
The Granary Café will be open daily serving a range of warming snacks and hot drinks including gingerbread lattes, hot chocolate, Walled Garden soup, homemade cakes and warm sausage rolls to take away.
We plan to re-open the Granary Brasserie for New Year’s Day lunch. Head Chef Anna Moore and her team are busy working on new menus and we look forward to welcoming you back to the restaurant in January.
We are really saddened that we have had to make this decision but we value you all and always want to ensure we can deliver great food and experiences in our restaurant. Please do support all hospitality businesses when you feel happy to do so in the New Year – we all need you to do so. We wish you a happy and safe Christmas with your friends and families.
Covid-19 Update – Monday 10th May
HorseFest and Our Countryside Rocks! Cancel 2021 events
It is with great regret that the organisers of new events HorseFest (23rd – 25th June) and Our Countryside Rocks! (18th and 19th September) have decided to cancel their events here at Weston due to the ongoing uncertainties surrounding the Covid-19 Pandemic.
These decisions have not been made lightly and reflect the challenging times experienced by the outdoor events industry over the last 12 months and the considerable investment required for the infrastructure in the run up to these events.
Whilst the roadmap is staying on course there is still uncertainty around being able to run the size of show planned in each case and being unable to insure for Covid related cancellation.
Co-founders of HorseFest Thea Roberts and Heidi Hunter-Cope have assured everyone the event will launch in 2022 with all the plans in place for this innovative new festival.
Heidi continues “The reaction to the HorseFest concept has been phenomenal – we are humbled by the response and excitement people have expressed. Please rest assured we are 100% committed to delivering HorseFest in 2022. Dates are confirmed as the 22nd – 24th July 2022 at Weston Park.”
A spokesperson for Our Countryside Rocks! said “We’ve been doing everything we can to find a solution to the complex challenge of being able to host a Covid safe and well-run event to the sheer scale, intricacy and all-encompassing nature ‘Our Countryside Rocks!’ promised to be this September. Sadly, time is running out for us to be able to proceed in a way that would live up to the size and scale of event we had planned.”
Covid-19 Update – Sunday 28th February 2021
Spring is on its way! Following the update from the Government on Monday we have been digesting the guidance as it has been released this week and we are delighted to say that we will be opening the Park & Gardens from Monday 29th March and in a break from our traditional opening pattern we will remain open daily throughout April and May – adding an additional 40 days into our seasonal opening. To welcome you safely you will need to pre-book your ticket and these will go on sale soon.
We plan to open Al Fresco dining in the Granary Brasserie from Monday 12th April and are just working up the finer detail to open up reservations as soon as we can. Our Domes are classed as indoor spaces and we will open up reservations for these unique dining spaces from Monday 17th May.
Many of you have asked what the Government’s Roadmap means for our events in the Park and we are working with each individual organiser to assess what it means for them – and you – and we will update our Social Media feeds when we have more details.
We will welcome guests back to our Holiday Cottages from Monday 12th April. If you are looking for a change of scenery you can book with confidence with Rural Retreats and enjoy a well-deserved break away in safe and beautiful surroundings.
We can’t wait to welcome you back to Weston again and are looking forward to seeing you all again, however you chose to enjoy this very special place.
Covid-19 Update – Wednesday 10th February 2021
We had been working towards opening the Park and Gardens for the February Half Term, however we hope that the Government update on or around 22nd February will give more definition as to the way forward – for everyone! The Park and Gardens will therefore remain closed for the time being with a view to opening in March.
Thank you for your continued patience and support and we look forward to welcoming you back – sooner rather than later.
Covid-19 Update – Wednesday 6th January 2021
As the National Lockdown comes into law today we wanted to update you on our plans.
The Park and Gardens will remain closed as they would normally be at this time of year.
The Granary Brasserie & Art Gallery will remain closed due to the current lockdown
We are also unable to welcome you to stay on the estate in one of our holiday cottages and if you have a break booked with Rural Retreats before the end of February they will be in touch with your options.
The offices will remain closed and should you have an urgent query please e-mail email@example.com
We are looking to the future and whilst the current situation is very fluid and uncertain we are aiming to open the Park & Gardens for February half term in-line with our established seasonal calendar.
In the meantime, stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back to Weston as soon as we are able to.
Covid-19 Update – Friday 18th December
We will miss you!
Following the latest Government update Weston remains under Tier 3 restrictions and sadly we will remain closed.
We would traditionally open the Park and Gardens from Boxing Day to New Year’s Day; whilst outdoor venues can remain open under any Tier it is simply not viable for the charity to open, especially after such a challenging year. We know that you will be disappointed but very much hope that you understand this difficult decision.
We are busy working on exciting plans for what will hopefully be a better and brighter 2021 for everyone.
Whatever you have planned for Christmas, have a safe and happy one and we look forward to welcoming you back in 2021.
Covid-19 Update – Thursday 26th November
Tier Update: Whilst Weston Park sits across the two counties of Shropshire and Staffordshire our Local Authority is South Staffordshire and we will be under Tier 3 restrictions from 2nd December. We will have to close the estate and our Christmas events will not go ahead as planned.
To say that we are devastated is an understatement. We know that so many of you have been looking forward to visiting us to attend our events in the Park, stay in the House or holiday cottages and enjoy a meal in the Granary. We are bitterly disappointed that we won’t be able to welcome you back when the national lockdown ends on 2nd December.
We understand that you will be disappointed too as so many of you have been looking forward to our events, we are truly sorry but it’s out of our hands.
There will be a review on the 16th December but there is no guarantee that the situation will change. We will of course continue to monitor the situation and Government updates but it is with a very heavy heart that, at the moment, we have decided to close the estate for the rest of the year.
Your incredible support this year has been invaluable to us in helping to fund the charity and keep the teams spirits up during the most challenging of times – thank you.
If you have purchased tickets for our Christmas Food & Craft Fayre and Enchanted Weston you will be automatically refunded by SeeTickets within the next 14 days.
URGENT TICKET UPDATE – 2nd December 2020
We have received a few messages with regards to refunds and can clarify the following from SeeTickets:
If you have purchased refund protection, this will be refunded first followed by the ticket value in the next three to five working days by SeeTickets. As the estate is currently closed please direct all ticketing queries to SeeTickets Customer Services which can be contacted here.
These refunds need to be processed in two batches and we apologise for any confusion or upset caused.
Christmas Dine & Stay + Granary Restaurant
If you have booked to dine in one of our Domes or to stay in the House a member of the team will be in touch in due course.
Our agent Rural Retreats will be contacting everyone who has made a reservation in the early part of December and will review the guidance following the next Tier review.
The team are incredibly busy at this time and we thank you for your patience and support.

Covid-19 Update Tuesday 3rd November
Following the Government’s recent announcements and guidance updates I wanted to outline what that means for our customers and members of Weston Park.
The Park & Gardens
We have closed, as we would traditionally do in line with our established opening pattern, for November and December and will re-open the estate to visitors and members from Boxing Day to New Year’s Day
Granary Brasserie, Coffee Snug & Art Gallery
Our Granary Brasserie, Coffee Snug and Art Gallery will close in-line with the latest guidance. If you have booked a table on-line you will receive a cancellation. If you have booked one of our Domes for lunch or dinner during until Wednesday 2nd December, a member of the team will have contacted you to outline your options.
Staying with Us
If you have booked to stay in one of our Holiday Cottages, our agent Rural Retreats will be in touch in due course to outline options available to you.
Christmas Dine & Stay
We fully intend to host our Christmas Dine & Stay Programme on 11th, 12th, 18th and 19th December and will keep you updated.
As the situation currently stands we intend to run our December events in the Park – Christmas Food & Craft Fayre and Enchanted Weston as planned in-line with a return to the Tier system on Wednesday 2nd December. Trade body UK Hospitality are lobbying government for a clear road map out of this second lock down so that we can give you confidence in what to expect for December. Whilst this latest lockdown is unsettling for everyone and creates uncertainty we encourage you to book your tickets to our events with the confidence that should we be unable to proceed you will be refunded.
Your support during the Spring lockdown and over the summer as we gradually re-opened the estate has been invaluable to us, it has given the team much needed optimism and supported the charity by visiting, staying and dining out with us and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We will continue to review Government guidance and updates as November unfolds.
Please bear with us as we again navigate our way forward and we very much hope to welcome you safely back to Weston in December.
Take care and stay safe
With best wishes,
CEO, Weston Park Foundation

Covid-19 Update 15th May 2020
Following the latest update from the Government this week we wanted to clarify the position on access to outdoor attractions and destinations. The current update states ‘ticketed outdoor leisure venues must remain closed’ and therefore the estate remains closed.
Should this advice change at any point in the coming weeks we will of course review this and provide updates on our social media channels.
In line with government guidance on non-essential travel and to stay at home it is with a very heavy heart that I have to announce we have closed the estate until further notice.
Weston Park is a place for people to enjoy a wide variety of experiences from celebrating a milestone occasion to having a picnic in the Park and it will be again.
We are a not for profit independent charity and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their generosity of spirit and messages of support in these rapidly moving and challenging times.
Take care, stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back to Weston soon.
With best wishes
CEO, Weston Park Foundation

Whilst we are trying to update business listings on Facebook, Google and Trip Advisor for example, these changes are not taking effect as quickly as we would like due to the volume of demand from similar businesses. If listings state we are open – we are not – and please do not travel to us.
