Organisers of the International Model Air Show at Weston Park, the stately home on the Shropshire \ Staffordshire border have been given the go ahead to release a limited number of day tickets to the Camp & Fly event on Friday 18th, 19th and 20th June.
Before the Government Roadmap was released in February the organisers, Wrekin Model Flying Club decided to re-schedule the International Model Air Show, which normally runs in June, to take place on Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June and this 25th anniversary special will take place on those dates.
Camp & Fly is a smaller scale show that will take place on Friday 18th, Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th June which is predominantly a camping event featuring a fly-in from top model pilots, drone displays, model helicopters, food stalls, licensed bar, trade stands and live entertainment.
Following consultation with the local authority a limited number of day tickets for Camp & Fly have been released on sale.
Steve Bishop from the Wrekin Model Flying Club said “We are delighted that we will be able to welcome day visitors to our Camp & Fly event in June and are looking forward to bringing two amazing shows to Weston Park this year.
“Fans of the International Model Airshow can now enjoy two events. Come and see us in June for a relaxing weekend of flying, entertainment and great company and then we are looking forward to celebrating our 25th anniversary in September with the full format show featuring international pilots, full sized displays and a large trade line-up.”
Camp & Fly takes place on Friday 18th, Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th June. Camping is £75 per unit. Day tickets are Adults £14, Children (under 16) £6 and a Family (2+3) is £30. All tickets must be pre-booked on-line at weston-park.com and there are limited numbers available.
