Weston’s Winter Wonderland



Creating a magical Christmas to enhance everyone’s advent calendar, an array of seasonal delights awaits at Weston Park country estate, which sits on the border of Shropshire and Staffordshire.


The festive fun commences with Weston’s Christmas Food and Craft Fayre on Sat 2and Sun 3 December (10am-4pm, entry £1).  A celebration of artisan food and flavours and original crafts with over 100 stalls  from hand picked producers, it’s the perfect place to get inspiration for Christmas menus or to pick up original gifts for friends and family.


The weekend also brings the opportunity to sample one of Weston’s Festive Afternoon Teas.  With delicacies individually prepared by Weston’s team of chefs, the menu features dainty sandwiches, pastries and a selection of seasonal treats including Chocolate and Cherry Tart and Gingerbread Christmas Trees, all served in the decadent surroundings of the Victorian Orangery.  It’s the perfect opportunity to relax in the surroundings of the house and enjoy the glorious Christmas displays adorning the House.


Festive Afternoon Tea costs £27.50 per person including entry to the House, Park and Gardens and entry to the Christmas Food and Craft Fayre.  Festive Afternoon Tea with a Winter Cup is £33.50 per person.


On Saturday 9 December the clocks will be going back to a time of glitz and glamour for a Roaring 20’s Christmas House Party where guests will be able to immerse themselves in an F Scott Fitzgerald fantasy of hi jinx and glamorous sophistication. The evening includes a 6 course seasonal tasting menu with wine pairings followed by a night at the casino in the setting of Weston’s ornate library. Guests are encouraged to channel their inner PG Wodehouse character with feather boas, headbands and beads a plenty! Prices start from £495 per couple including afternoon refreshments, drinks reception, dinner served with a flight of wines, overnight stay and full English breakfast.


Seasonal fine food, roaring fires, twinkling lights, beautiful countryside and a stately home setting are a few of the favourite things that await those enjoying a Christmas Dine & Stay weekend this December. Guests can wrap up warm for an invigorating walk around Weston’s scenic parkland, before retiring to their luxuriously decorated bedroom to prepare for the evening’s festivities.  Dinner commences with a champagne reception in the breathtaking Marble Halls before sitting down to a five course sumptuous feast in the grand Dining Room that celebrates the best of the season’s produce.  Warm up by the Library fire, the perfect opportunity to imbue the magical Christmas atmosphere before retiring to bed.Prices start from £399 per couple including overnight stay and all meals, available on Friday 8, Friday 15, Saturday 16 and Friday 22 December.


After the hectic rush towards Christmas make the most of the holidays with a Twixmas Walk at Weston (26-31 December).  Weston Park’s Capability Brown landscaped parkland is some of the most celebrated in the country and provides the perfect backdrop for a winter’s stroll amongst the twinkling frost covered trees to blow away the cobwebs and revitalise for the year ahead. 10am-4pm, entry £3 per person.


Escape the wrapping paper for a special Christmas treat on Thursday 28 December for a Twixmas Afternoon Tea, a perfect excuse to catch up with friends and family. Twixmas Afternoon Tea costs £27.50 per person or £33.50 per person with a winter cup.
