Weston Park, the stately home on the Shropshire \ Staffordshire border celebrates the 150th anniversary of the publication of Lewis Carroll’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” with a line-up of free activities for children to enjoy during the summer holidays.
Starting on Monday 20th July and running every weekday until Tuesday 18th August the stately homes Education team will lead children’s Discovery Workshops to entertain children throughout the school break.
Generously supported by Wolverhampton based PIA Wealth Management activities will include the PIA Wonderland Wall which will be decorated with a host of characters from Alice in Wonderland including mad hatters, white rabbits, caterpillars, Cheshire cats, dormice and much more.
Out in the parkland children can follow the White Rabbit trail through Temple Wood and get hands on with activities including the ever popular pond dipping, wildlife walks and bug hunting where kids can get up close to the creatures that inhabit the estate.
Claire Cumming, Education Manager at Weston Park says: “Our Alice in Wonderland theme lends the opportunity for children’s imaginations to run wild and get creative with endless opportunities to use clay and craft materials to conjure up characters from these much loved tales.”
“A huge thank you goes out to PIA Wealth Management whose generous support enables me to put together a fantastic line-up of craft making, fun and games.”
