Bugs, birds and butterflies

Summer fun at Weston Park with free Discovery Workshops

Nature and wildlife is the theme for a series of free Discovery Workshops taking place at Weston Park throughout the summer holidays.  Starting on Monday 21st July and running every weekday until the 12th August, kids will explore the sights, sounds and smells of the great outdoors and learn about the plants and creatures that live in the park.

Young adventurers can hunt for watery mini beasts and diving beetles while pond dipping, before having a go at plant detecting and clay modelling.  There’s also hands-on arts and craft activities where children can make butterfly gliders, bird mobiles and colourful bug badges.

With acres of gardens and woodlands to discover, not to mention the adventure playground complete with zip wires, cargo nets and climbing walls, Weston is a great place to have fun with the family this summer.

Discovery Workshops are free with general admission to the Park & Gardens priced at £5.50 per adult, £3.50 per child and £5.00 for seniors.  The sessions start at 11am on weekdays (21st July – 12th August), with 25 places given on a first come, first served basis.  Workshops are run by Weston Park’s Education team and are generously supported by PIA Wealth Management from nearby Wolverhampton.
