Peter Walker Exhibition - Saturday 27th April 2013 - Sunday 30th June 2013
International artist Peter Walker ARBS will be exhibiting at the Granary Art Gallery throughout May and June.
An artist who works in both realist and abstract styles, many of Peter's remarkable sculptural pieces are geometric in appearance, whilst exploring the movement and mechanics of people and creatures such as horses and birds.
Peter primarily uses materials such as bronze and corten - a steel alloy with a deep orange 'rust' appearance - to create his sculptures, a selection of which will be on display.
Besides producing small sculptures on a domestic scale, Peter has also produced a significant number of public artworks, the most recent being on public display at Lichfield's Erasmus Darwin Academy and Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter.
Some of Peter's dynamic drawings and paintings on display in the Granary Art Gallery will show his studies of figures depicting anatomies and movement in detail. A selection of these images were used for the production of his sculpture.
In addition to larger public works funded by the Arts Council England, Peter has exhibited in galleries - locally in Stafford and outside the county in cities such as London, Bath, Birmingham and Walsall. He has also been commissioned to produce large abstract equestrian sculptures for the BMW factory in Munich, Germany. These exciting and dramatic pieces will be represented in the exhibition.
This exhibition and the installation of his outdoor sculptures have been generously supported by Benham BMW
