Give it some welly this half term and explore the great outdoors at Weston!
Let’s leave the Winter behind and become detectives in the search for Spring – its amazing what you can find if you really look! We will also go in search of the ‘Missing Menagerie’ which would have been home to rare and exotic birds in Georgian times.
The day starts at 10.30am with a Woodland Scavenger Hunt where families will seek out nature’s secrets amongst the beautiful environment of Capability Brown’s Temple Wood.
In the afternoon, starting at 1pm, children will be able to get hands on with plenty of creative fun in our ‘Making a Menagerie’ workshop. This year we will be celebrating the 300th anniversary of the legendary landscaper ‘Capability’ Brown, the man who shaped the grounds into what they are today.
One of the features of the estate would have been a menagerie full of brightly plumed exotic birds and in our craft workshops you can use your imagination to produce your own colourful and fanciful feathered friends to take home.
Lunch is available to purchase at the Granary Grill & Deli which has a wide range of delicious options from freshly made sandwiches or a home cooked lunch.
