Temple Wood and the Woodland Adventure Playground are open for an extended period this year to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of legendary landscaper Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown.
The wood is part of Weston’s extensive grounds and is one of the jewels in the crown of Brown’s work, showcasing his virtuosity as a landscaper. A naturalistic and romantic paradise, over the last 15 years the Weston Park Foundation, the charity that owns and maintains the estate has gradually returned the landscape to Brown’s original vision.
In addition to exploring the natural delights of Temple Wood, families can enjoy the newly updated Woodland Adventure Playground which sees the addition of eight new pieces of interactive and inclusive play equipment including one of the longest double zip wires in the country.
