Philip Huckin & Penelope Timmis Exhibition

Monday, December 1, 2014 - Sunday, January 4, 2015

Two popular artists return to exhibit in the Granary Art Gallery this December – Philip Huckin will be exhibiting a selection of his highly detailed landscape drawings and paintings, many of which are based on the Welsh countryside.  His attention to colour and clarity are clearly shown in his paintings.  The use of light and shadow, along with the ability to illustrate depth with varying tones and foreground and background create uplifting images for any home.

Philip has spent 33 years in education, 24 of those were spent teaching in secondary schools.  Having completed his Masters in painting from Aberystwyth University, Philip now lives in the Ceredigion, Wales concentrating on producing artwork and exhibiting widely in the region and further afield.

We will also be welcoming back South Shropshire artist Penelope Timmis RBSA. Influenced by colour and movement, her brightly coloured floral, animal and landscape paintings will bring a dash of life to any home. She is particularly well known for her farm animal paintings, inspired by her own farmyard, which include cockerels and geese. Having being established for over 10 years, Penelope is an Associate of the Birmingham Society of the Arts and an Associate of the Society of Women Artists.
