Experienced printmaking artist Jo McChesney will be returning to Weston Park to host a two-day print making workshop.
Jo has travelled to Kyoto, Japan to study the technique of woodblock printing and has since developed her work, exhibiting widely across the UK, including at our own Granary Art Gallery.
Participants will have the opportunity to carve and print their own woodblock and create their own unique design to take home.
Jo will talk about the methods involved in making a relief print and then participants will then create and transfer their own image onto the woodblock. Other techniques taught will include carving, mark making, creating texture and finally printing.
Participants will be encouraged to try various printing elements and colours throughout the workshop.
Places are just £90 per person and include
- Full printmaking tuition
- All materials including paper, woodblocks and use of printing inks (Participants may bring different types of paper to print on if they wish)
- Access to the Park and Gardens
- Free tea and coffee making facilities
Each day runs from 10.30am until 4.30pm
